Chi siamo
About us
dinepi#and was founded to meet concrete needs: the production of high quality carpets and textiles that suit a modern home and projects planned by architects and interior designers. In order to achieve this goal, dinepi#and combines European management abilities with the experience and skills of the countries where textile arts originated: Nepal, Tibet, Turkey, Iran, Armenia. This includes hard-to-reach places like the back country of Peshawar, and anywhere with a textile manufacturing culture rich in unique techniques and treatment. And each and every time, dinepi#and’s choices are based on its own creatives designs and the requests it receives. |
Our story
Our story started a long time back: like generations of our family before us, we were once simple textile traders. Then, we became merchants and travellers in the lands of the East, learning the culture and the original techniques of textile arts. We have always known that the key to understanding the world of textile arts lies in the encounter between two different traditions. After all, throughout the centuries, East and West have always left extraordinary heritage every time they have dialogued with each other. We started working with and understanding these mutual influences back in the 1960’s, when Europe was the destination of new waves of immigration from the Middle East and North Africa. Evolving and venturing into this world, so dynamic and rich in interacting stories, styles and tastes so different from each other, meant setting up an immense laboratory. We came to understand how lines, colors, signs and symbols communicate and create combinations so diverse and vital that they keep their charm throughout fashion’s continuous changes. Experimenting with combinations of signs and colors in different cultures and environments made us who we are. This led to our our vision of of a carpet, a unique and inimitable object due to its richness and multiple characteristics, as a piece of art, of a craft, of style and design. Our story is marked by names like Hass, Santangelo Interiors e Casa Di Nepi. Each of these locations is known and remembered not only as important stores in different Italian resorts, but also as successful laboratories that promoted events and studies in the field of textile manufacturing. In this spirit, in 1994 we founded Il Tappeto Parlante (The Talking Carpet), a cultural association known for its innovative exhibitions throughout Italy and its textile and training courses. Instructors included the valid participation of experts such as Maurizio Cohen from Rome and Alberto Boralevi from Florence, and the courses attracted a large number of students. |
